The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has threatened to reject the result of the 2023 presidential election.
The PDP agent at the national collation centre in Abuja, Dino Melaye, said this Monday, February 27, 2023, while raising concerns about the presidential election result in Kwara.
Melaye argued that the failure of INEC to promptly upload online, results from polling units makes the results questionable.
Recall that it was reported that the Labour Party cried foul citing manipulation and manufacturing of results by INEC officials in states across the country particularly Lagos, Edo, Rivers, and Imo.
The party chairman Julius Abure at a press briefing at the party headquarters in Abuja, on Sunday, February 26, 2023, also decries the violence meted out on Labour Party supporters.
The party called on INEC to cancel the presidential results which they describe as manufactured in parts of the country particularly Rivers State.
They asked President Muhammadu Buhari to keep his word of ensuring the 2023 elections are free fair and credible.
The party also stated that it will only accept true results obtained at the polling units.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has blamed technical hitches for the delay in uploading most results of the general election to the INEC Results Viewing Portal (IReV).
A statement issued on Sunday, by INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye (Esq), assured Nigerians that results from the polling units, copies of which were issued to political parties, are safe on both the BVAS and the IReV portal and cannot be tampered with.
