An Osun born ICT expert, who is base in Osogbo, has emphasized on the importance of education in building a great country. “A country that wants her name to be written on a platter of gold should not take education for granted”.
He disclosed this during the launching of a Computer Based Test (CBT) Practice Software he developed for the use of all students writing UTME/JAMB examination.
When asked what prompted him to develop the CBT software, he said, “education is the key to any success that one desires in one’s endeavours in life”, education in Nigeria has not been where it is supposed to be, therefore, everybody must contributes his or her own quota in order to move the education sector in the country forward.
He further emphasized on the efforts of the government body that sees to the admission of students into tertiary institutions, Joint Admission & Matriculation Board (JAMB), as they have been performing wonderfully well by providing all necessary gadgets for students all over Nigeria every year for them to excel, but he pointed out one of the areas that needs improvement, which is the level of preparation of the students for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which makes many of them to fail the exam every year, because they know little or nothing about computer operation, and he said that was what prompted him and his team to embark on the journey and he thank God, after about four (4) years of sleepless nights, thorough researches and a lot of consultations, him and his team are able to come up with a complete JAMB CBT software that works perfectly.
He therefore urges all students sitting for the 2023 UTME Examination to get one of these softwares for their use as it has been made simple and easy for departments (Art, Commercial & Science) and by doing so, they are doing themselves a lot of good, because it will not only make them to be familiar with how questions are being asked, but also prepare them for the task ahead.
