Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has submitted that Osogbo, the state capital, being a city with no streetlights was ’embarrassing’.

Pulsenews gathered that  Adeleke said this while addressing party members and supporters  during the  presidential  campaign rally  held by the PDP at the Freedom Park, Osogbo on Wednesday .

The former senator , who took office as governor of Osun state a few days ago, disclosed that he found himself in an embarrassing situation when  the PDP presidential candidate , Alhaji Atiku Abubakar , himself and other dignitaries moved around the state capital on Tuesday night and discovered that the whole city was without light.

He has therefore promised to correct the situation.

‘I told our incoming president that ‘sorry , this is what we met on the ground  but I can assure you that by the time you will be coming to visit us as president  of the Federal Republic of Nigeria , there will be light everywhere’ he said.

Adeleke, who thanked the Osun state  people for supporting him and getting him elected as governor, asserted that Osun had always been a PDP stronghold, submitting that  they had earlier  supported him in 2018  but he was denied the mandate. He accused the APC of seeking to  get things done through the backdoor.

While noting that ‘it is a new dawn in Osun state’,  Adeleke has promised to improve the economy of the state,  ensure security of lives and property and prioritize agriculture and education.

He urged all Nigerians to vote for Atiku calling him a  detribalized Nigerian, who is also the most   experienced among all the presidential candidates  .

Describing Atiku as a  God- fearing person, Adeleke also  submitted that Nigeria will grow from strength to strength under the Waziri of Adamawa as president while he will also promote  rule of law and due process.

Adeleke urged Osun state people to come out in large numbers to vote for Atiku like they had voted for him  in  the gubernatorial election  held in the state on July 16.
