Aftermath of the controversial governorship primaries of the All Progressive Congress in Ekiti, a former member of the House of Representatives, Bimbo Daramola has said that the party’s fate in the coming election is shaking.
Daramola, who is also the spokesman of one of the contenders for the ticket, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, while featuring on an Arise Tv programme on Monday accused Gov Kayode Fayemi of leading the party to extinction.
Daramola said that Abiodun Oyebamiji who emerged the winner of the disputed exercise, is a party man who is also qualified in all ramifications to contest and fly the flag of the party.
He however said this is if he had emerged in a free and fair primary election. “But, the primary that produced him was full of errors and not properly conducted. Many things happened on the eve of that primary which led the other Seven Aspirants to walk out of the venue on the day of the primary.
” The Seven Aspirants that walked out of the venue of the primary had promised to teach APC and Governor Fayemi a lesson if issues are not properly and quickly addressed then APC and Fayemi will have himself to blame”
Daramola said Governor Badaru was only in the state to dance to the tune of Governor Fayemi saying the reason behind his decision is best known to him.
” The Seven Aspirants are people of notable reputations and it would be advisable for APC to look into their grievances tabled before them and if time permits, there is absolutely nothing bad to organize a new primary election for all the Aspirants including Oyebamiji” Daramola Said
